PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Each Academy within the NWEFC Boys Program will focus on specific aspects of the 4 areas of development:
TECHNICAL   |   TACTICAL   |   PHYSICAL   |   PSYCHOLOGICAL
DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY U8-U10
  • Technical: Improve individual and collective basic soccer techniques. Ball mastery
  • Tactical: Creating space to receive the ball and keep possession
  • Physical: Develop speed, coordination & balance with and without the ball.
  • Psychological: Positive interaction with teammates, building a love for the game

ADVANCED ACADEMY  U11-U14
  • Technical: Focus on quality of passing and receiving technique as well as ball control in game situations.
  • Tactical: Develop attacking/defending principles and combination play, to create and score goals
  • Physical: Compete to increase speed, agility, coordination and balance in competitive games.
  • Psychological: Increase collective self-confidence, team spirit and assertiveness in a positive manner
SENIOR ACADEMY  U15-U19
  • Technical: Focus on speed of passing & receiving technique, as well as ball control in small & big spaces.
  • Tactical: Applying attacking & def. principles at speed, managing the game
  • Physical: Development of aerobic power, acyclic speed and explosive strength.
  • Psychosocial: Commitment to teammates in accomplishing specific tasks.

ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM ADD-ON

U11-U19 additional training program outside of team training, where players will focus on specific aspects of becoming the Whole Player, centered around the 3 P’s:

      POSSESSION   |    POSITION   |   PLAY

Players will be expected to keep diaries, to self-evaluate and keep track of their progress, measured against benchmarks set by the coaching staff. These benchmarks will be in line with what an “Elite” level player can be expected to produce on the field, at any specific age. This will include proficiency in the areas of:

  • First touch
  • Striking the ball
  • Shielding the ball
  • Crossing
  • Shooting
  • Scanning the field
  • Body positioning
  • Tactical awareness

Academy of Excellence additional sessions held:
U11-U14 July thru October
U15-U19 July thru mid-August & December-January

PROGRAM DETAILS

U11-U19 Boys Academy Program Membership Includes:

• Program led by Boys Director of Coaching, Kibwe Cuffie
• 2-3x week training
• Professional coaches, both for team and specialty training
• Fall League U11-U15 | Winter League U15-U19 | Spring League U11-U14
• Game film recording (when available) and occasional video analysis
• Entry in an OYSA Cup
• Tournament participation: Teams are expected to play in 2-4 local or travel tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments are hand-selected by the team's coaching staff.
• USYS player card and insurance
• THPRD field access for team training and home games
• Club administration (player and team registration, rostering, player cards, scheduling, communication)
• Total Global Sports TOTALPlayer membership and access to Recruiting Resource Center (for Senior Academy U15-U19)
• Athletic training support from Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists
• Weekly Keeper Training for team keepers
• Team Snap Premium subscription

TRYOUTS

• Held annually in May
• Pre-registration required
• Registration Deadline May 5th
• $50 non-refundable tryout fee
no additional cc fee for tryouts

COST

• $400 Player Commitment Deposit due May 15th
• Membership Fees are non-refundable
• Uniform kits are additional expense
• Team travel expenses are additional
• Payment plans are available

UNIFORM INFO

We are beginning a new two year uniform cycle in May 2023.  ALL club players joining this year will need to order the required uniform kits from the new 2023-2025 style cycle from SOCCER.COM.

*After tryouts you will receive a personalized email from SOCCER.COM with your uniform ordering information. Do not order a uniform until you receive official notification from the club that the SOCCER.COM Team Store is open.

Futsal league entry fees are not part of club fees—it is an additional cost per player, collected by team.

JANUARY-APRIL
Spring Premier league for U11-U14 State Cup bound teams, followed by State Cup run in April

FEBRUARY-APRIL
Spring league for U11-U14 Division 1 & 2 teams

Memorial Day
July 4th - typically the full week is off
Labor Day
Thanksgiving - full week off or possibly Wed-Fri
Winter Break - follows BSD schedule (training break, but futsal league overlaps)
Spring Break - follows BSD schedule

Coaches are given some discretion to change this schedule on a team-by-team basis. If a team needs to prepare for an upcoming competition or tournament, coaches may decide to train during a club-wide break.
