MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

OVERVIEW

NWEFC believes that all children should be able to play soccer, regardless of their family's financial situation. Players can receive financial help from the club through merit based scholarships or need based financial assistance. Both require an application process.

NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID

Families in need are provided the opportunity to play through our need-based scholarship program. If you know the posted club fees will be a hardship on your family, please apply for financial aid. NWEFC will review each application, keeping all information confidential. All need-based applications for financial aid will be considered.

The deadline for financial aid application submission was May 15th, 2023 and the preliminary limit for player fee financial aid for the 2023-24 has been reached. The club is now accepting “Wait List” applications.

If you submit a financial aid application for the Wait List, your Wait Listed application will still be reviewed by the financial aid committee for qualification. Should additional funds become available you will be notified. You will receive an update from the financial aid committee within 3 weeks of your application date. There is no guarantee that your request will be approved.

- Northwest Elite FC does not award full scholarships, and there is no guarantee that aid will be approved.
- Supporting documentation is required during the application process.
- Your payment of the member fee deposit is a criteria used during the committee's review process.

APPLICATION DEADLINE 5/15

All Financial Aid applications must be submitted by May 15th. Late applications will be denied unless special circumstances apply. I.e. your financial situation changed later in the year.

Financial Aid Application Process must be completed electronically. Once you have completed the online form, you will need to email an image of your supporting document (see list below) to [email protected]

Your application will not be reviewed until the supporting document has been submitted.

WAITING FOR RESPONSE?

Your application for financial aid will be reviewed in a timely manner.

Do not wait to accept your team invitation! Respond to your coach right away.
Financial aid applicants are exempt from financial commitment until their aid amount has been awarded/agreed to
You must accept or decline the awarded aid amount within 48 hours of notification
Parent and player must review and sign the award letter and return to the club

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Applicants must show CURRENT proof of financial need documentation using one or more of the following methods:

Eligibility Notification Letter (from player's school) indicating approval for Free or Reduced Price Meal Benefits - SNP (School Nutrition Programs) from the Oregon Department of Education
Oregon Health Plan proof of coverage in the parent/guardian/s name (Form 1095-B)
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, I.e. food stamps) benefits - official documentation from issuing agency. SNAP/Oregon Trail Cards are NOT considered official proof.
Cash Assistance (TANF or Refugee Cash) or Child Care (ERDC) benefits - official documentation from issuing agency. EBT/SNAP/Oregon Trail Cards are NOT considered official proof.
Player and Parent Co-Signers of "Player Responsible for Fees" Document. Parent/legal guardian agrees to act as a guarantor on the payments and takes on joint responsibility for repayment of all balances due if player is unable to fulfill their financial obligation to the Club and/or team.
A copy of your most recent pay stub, W2 form, 1099, or 1040 for both parents.
If you do not qualify using the above methods, your application may still be considered. Please provide a statement regarding your need on the application.
